350th Anniversary
This year, Musselburgh Old Course Golf Club hosted events to celebrate the 350th Anniversary of golf first being documented as having been played at ‘The Cradle of Golf’, in 1672.
On 4th July, we hosted an Invitational Texas ScrambleΒ Anniversary and we were honoured to welcome teams from The R&A of St. Andrews, Royal Portrush GC, Royal Troon GC, Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, Bruntsfield Link GS, Royal St. Georges GC, Leith Rules GS, Lothianβs Golf Association, Team Jane Connachan, Musselburgh Links Ladies GC, Royal Musselburgh GC, Musselburgh Racing, Loretto Academy, East Lothian Juniors, Stephen Gallagher Foundation and Enjoy Leisure.
On the day, the event was won by Musselburgh Old Course Golf Club βBβ Team and the runners-up were Musselburgh Links Ladies Golf Club βBβ team.
Fundraising Auction & Raffle for The Hollies Community Hub, Musselburgh.
We were very grateful to receive many donations, from those taking part in the event, club members and friends of the club.
Club Captain, Steve Hill commented βOn Saturday 5th November we held an auction and raffle in their clubhouse in aid of The Hollies Community Hub and raised a grand total of Β£3203. As well as thanking everyone for their donations, we would also like to thank everyone who bought raffle tickets, sold books of raffle tickets, or assisted by advertising our auction and raffle fundraiser.β
He added βOur club is proud of its long history of supporting charities and in particular local charities in the Musselburgh area and we hope this donation to The Hollies will help them through a difficult winter.β
