21st Musselburgh Challenge

21st Musselburgh Challenge

Last year’s Musselburgh Challenge was cancelled because of the risks involved in hosting an event during the Covid-19 pandemic.
We are pleased to announce that 21st Musselburgh Challenge has been scheduled for Saturday 2nd July.

In 2007, Scotland’s very own Sandy Lyle, winner of The Open Championship and US Masters represented the R & A in this event, with the R & A winning the competition ahead Musselburgh Old Course Golf Club.

As in previous years, it will be a 9 hole competition, which will be played with Hickory Golf Clubs.
Teams of four from all the Old Historic Golf Clubs who have a connection with the Musselburgh will compete over Musselburgh Links for this prestigious trophy.

The competition format is two pairs from each club playing a foursomes medal round playing with Hickory Golf Clubs, with the combined scores of the 4 players from each club determining the result.

The 2007 Musselburgh Challenge was won by the R&A, who had Sandy Lyle, pictured on the left, among their ranks.
